THE BASE

All Woldsong harps (except the occasional lap harp I build by special request) have a flat pedestal base.

Spindly Legs

Too many times, I have seen harps on spindly legs either fall or come close to falling over backwards. When they do fall, the damage is usually extensive, sometimes to the point that the harp is unrepairable.

Stability and Balance

Woldsong harps are far more stable. They are balanced in a way to tilt back easily, but not dangerously. While it is true that for some instruments a harp stool is required for some players, we consider that a small price to pay for not having to worry about playing outdoors on concrete where falls are always disasterous, or on thick plush carpets where harps with spindly legs sometimes won't stand up at all.

Pedestal Shape

The bases are of a plaque shape and the edges are contoured to a Roman Ogee shape creating a finished and professional look to the harp.
